~Roy Hurshel Tyler began his life's journey on October 8, 1923 in Dodson Texas. He grew up on the Tyler farm east of Wellington, Texas. He met his lifelong mate, Mildred Stafford in Wellington and were united in marriage in 1942. Their union lasted for 68 years and blessed them with four children: Bill Tyler and wife Jan of Olney Texas, Marsha Leeper and husband Dennis of Mustang Oklahoma, Kathy Mauldin and husband Charles of Bridgeport Texas, and Mike Tyler of Wellington Texas all of which produced an additional blessing of eight grandchildren and nineteen great grand children. Hurshel was a successful businessman, inventor, and a pioneer in the cable television industry. He enjoyed visiting with friends or strangers, and always had memories from the past to share with everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents Arvil Guy (AG) Tyler and Mildred Allen Tyler, a brother William Tyler, two sisters Evelyn Faulkner and Dorma Lee Tyler, also a great granddaughter Hannah Eubanks. Hurshel passed away March 6, 2013. Funeral services will be Monday, March 11 at 10 am at the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney Texas. Graveside services will be at Fairview Cemetery in Wellington, Texas at 3:30 pm.
