Rueben Castro, Sr., age 62, died Monday, November 15, 2021, at his home in Scotland, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Rev. Jacob Gallardo, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Rueben was born February 6, 1959 in Olney to Joe and Mary (Rubio) Castro. He married Rosemary Garza on February 26, 1982 in Olney. Rueben had previously been the manager of The Chicken Place. He moved to Scotland in 2000 from Bowie. Rueben loved to BBQ and liked to go fishing. He was always laughing and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Castro; a daughter, Veronica Castro; and a grandson, Dominic Castro.

Rueben is survived by his mother, Mary Castro of Olney; his wife, Rosemary Castro of Scotland; one son, Rueben Castro, Jr. of Vernon; one daughter, Samantha Castro of Haskell; two brothers, Jesse Castro of Graham and Ralph Castro of Olney; thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
