Sandy Grubbs Fisher, age 70, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Graham Oaks Care Center in Graham, Texas. Memorial services and a celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Olney, with Chad Edgington, pastor, officiating.
Sandy was born on November 12, 1951, in Olney, Texas to the late Cecil William (Sandy) Grubbs and Laura Faye (Simmons) Grubbs. She lived in Houston for several years and decided to move back to her hometown of Olney in 2007. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Olney where she served as secretary since November 18, 2013. She was a great co-worker and was always an encouragement to her pastor, church staff and her entire church family. Because of her deep faith in Christ, she endured many hardships and always persevered. She was the greatest mother that never had a child. She was a very giving person and her true passion was helping other people. Sandy loved ballet and dreamed of being a Radio City Rockette. She loved dogs of all breeds and always took in strays and loved them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her cousin, Candy Todd.
Sandy is survived by her two brothers: Gary Grubbs of Jean and Byron Royce Grubbs of Kingwood, Texas; her nephew, Jesse Grubbs of Wichita Falls; her cousins: Carolyn Martin of Wichita Falls, Hobert Ellen Hogan of Jean, Tracy Barrett of Jean and Stanton Freeze of Jean; and all of her extended family, special friends, co-workers and church family.
