Sara Perez

Olney ~ Sara Perez, age 84, passed away March 16, 2016 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Father John Pacheco of St. Theresa Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas.

Sara was born on October 29, 1931 in Alice, Texas to the late Felix Rubio and Cruz (Dias) Rubio. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Olney and member of the St. Theresa Altar Society. She had worked in housekeeping for Boeing Electronics in Lewisville, Texas and later for Haggar Slacks in Olney for twenty years. She also worked for Cherrydale Farms in Olney before her retirement. She married Manuel S. Perez on May 12, 1955 in Olney. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2006. She was also preceded in death by five brothers: Felix Rubio, Jr., Ignacio Rubio, Zaragoza Rubio, Domingo Rubio, Demetrio Rubio; four sisters: Ubencia Gutierrez, Carman Garcia, Dominga Vela, Leonora Rubio; and three grandchildren; Nicholas Torres, Samantha Perez and Crystal Perez.

Sara is survived by ten children: Richard Torres of Midland, Felix Torres of Olney, Ruben Perez of Olney, Eddie Perez of Newcastle, Freddie Perez of Olney, Tony Perez of Sanger, Manuel Perez, Jr. of Valley Mills, Frankie Jean Marin of Wichita Falls, Maria Palacios of Wichita Falls, Elizabeth Caballero Perez of Wichita Falls; four step-children: Manuel Rangel Perez, Jr., Richard Perez, Robert Perez, Rosa Linda Palmiter all of Alice; twenty-nine grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home.
