Sonny Hickam, age 76, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Andy Graham officiating. Arrangements are under Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Sonny was born Richard Dean Hickam on May 9, 1935 in Throckmorton County, Texas. He and Leona Goodman were married on January 24, 1958 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They moved from Wichita Falls to Olney in 1972. Sonny was a lifetime farmer and rancher and a member of the Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Christine Hickam, his stepfather, Raymond Cantrell, and a brother, Wallace Cantrell in 1994.

Sonny is survived by wife, Leona Hickam of Olney, Texas son Rocky Hickam of Olney, Texas daughter Robbie North and husband Raymond of Wichita Falls, Texas brother Wilton Cantrell of Elbert, Texas four grandchildren: Rocky Hickam, Samantha Smith, Summer Hickam, and Dakota Smith and one great grandchild Oaklan Hopkins.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 10, 2012 from 57 pm at the funeral home.
