Spain Reynolds, Sr. age 82, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at his home in Newcastle, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle with Paul Cheatham of Irving, Texas officiating. Burial will be at Newcastle Cemetery. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Spain was born December 2, 1929 in Clarendon, Texas to the late Pete and Irene Brogdon Reynolds. He married Billy Richerson on November 13, 1948 in Archer City, Texas. He was a farmer and rancher. Spain was a lifelong resident of Newcastle. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newcastle. Spain was preceded in death by his parents two brothers Martin and Walter Reynolds, and a sister, Juanita Duncan.

He is survived by his wife Billy Reynolds of Newcastle, Texas son Emmit Reynolds, Jr. and wife Debby of Newcastle, Texas daughter Comell Dodson and husband Larry of Lubbock, Texas brother Cotton Reynolds and wife Peggy of Graham, Texas sisters: Polly Reynolds, Betty Harris, and Rita Taylor all of Newcastle, Texas three grandchildren: Brayden Spain Reynolds, Amber Paulson, and Michael Dodson four great grandchildren: Haylee Dodson, Trey Dodson, Mandie Paulson, and Maddie
