Sylvia Lea Linthicum Snow Long, age 81 of Graham, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 14,2022, at her home in Graham. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas, with Joe Finfrock, officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Sylvia was born on August 23, 1940 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Matthew Paul Linthicum and Mary Lee (Clay) Linthicum. She was a graduate of the first class of the George B. Hamilton School of Vocational Nursing in 1966. She then worked as an LVN at both Olney Hamilton Hospital and Seven Oaks Nursing Home. Sylvia married William Long, Jr. on April 19, 1977. He preceded her in death in 1998. While living in San Antonio, she was co-owner of San Antonio Brake Shop. She moved back to Graham in 2019 from San Antonio. Sylvia was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She loved gardening and working with her plants as well as doing crafts. She truly loved her pets. Sylvia loved the Lord and her true passion was being a nurse and taking care of her patients.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: George Linthicum and Charles Linthicum; one sister, Barbara Morgan; grandson, Calvin Wade Corley II; and daughter-in-law, Julie Ward Snow.
Sylvia is survived by one daughter, Sheree Rae Snow Ferris and husband Daniel of Loving, Texas; one son, Danny Snow of Graham, Texas; two sisters: Mollie Davis of Lake Palestine, Texas and Jewel Judy Parker of Katy, Texas; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
