Thelma York Davis, age 87, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Graham Oaks Care Center in Graham, Texas. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Thelma was born on February 16, 1935, in Beverly, Ohio to the late Charles Shimp and Flossie (Hughes) Shimp. She was a longtime resident of Olney and a member of the Pentecostal Church. She married George York on July 17, 1949, in Archer City. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1990. She later married Elvis Carl Davis on October 8, 2006. He preceded her in death on August 23, 2021. Thelma was a great wife and mother and loved spending time with her family. Her children meant the world to her and she was loved very much. She liked to listen to Praise and Worship music. Thelma was very forgiving and tried to teach others about the importance of forgiveness.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands; her sister, Mary Augustine; two brothers: Harold Shimp and Kenny Shimp; a granddaughter, Cynthia Wayman; and three sons: Sandy York, Ricky York and Robert York.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Sheree Owens of Olney, one grandson, Paul Wayman of Milan, Michigan; one granddaughter, Georgia York of Olney; four great-grandchildren: Coty Wayman, Carly Wayman Kee, Amber Wayman and Zach Wayman; as well as fifteen great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
