Theresia Sykora, age 91, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas. Rosary service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Mary's of the Assumption in Megargel, Texas, with Deacon Jim Novak, officiating. Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. with Father Albert Francis Kanjirathumkal, officiating. Rite of Committal will be in Megargel Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas.

Theresia was born on January 16, 1926 in Munday, Texas to the late Lawrence Clint Franklin and Annie (Morath) Franklin. She married Johnie Sykora on February 22, 1949 in Rhineland, Texas. Theresia had worked at Haggar Slacks in Olney for over twenty years as a machine operator and inspector. She had also worked at Dayco. Theresia was a lifetime Catholic and a member of the K.J.Z.T. and the Catholic Life. She moved to Lubbock in 2012 from Seymour.

Theresia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnie Sykora in 1974; a daughter, Ellenora Sykora in 1978; a great-grandson, Jayten Hudson in 2001; and eight siblings.

Theresia is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and Billy Howe of Seymour, Texas and Mary and Dean Manning of Lubbock, Texas; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
