Thomas E. Jeffery, former resident of Olney, age 73, passed away on Sunday, August, 28, 2011, in Mansfield, Texas.
Funeral services were held August 31, 2011, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas. Interment was at Restland Cemetery in Olney.
Tom was born in Ft. Worth on August 2, 1938. He was the son of the late Ed and Maxine Jeffery. Tom was raised in Olney. He graduated from Olney High School in 1956 and continued his education at N.M.M.I. and Tarleton State University . He served his country in the U.S. Army for three years. He also served on the Ft.Worth and Arlington Police Forces. Tom retired from American Airlines Ramp ServiceD.F.W.A. He was raised in Olney and was a true quotJeremiah Johnsonquot at heart his love for the outdoors was never ending. Tom39s sense of humor, the stories and laughs he shared with family and friends will always be treasured. Tom always thought of Olney as his home. His heart never left there and was always feeling so blessed that he was raised there saying to his daughters quotThere is nothing better than a small town and county. You girls do not know what you are missingquot His love for the O.H.S. Class of 1956 and his high school friends, whom he would refer to as his quotHerosquot, and the good ole days still telling the same stories 55 years later and still laughing out loud with tears in his eyes. Olney, he loved you.
Survivors his memory will be cherished by his wife Jill of 52 years daughters Dawn and husband Joe Ruzic, Toni and husband Scott Kreskai five grandchildren: Trey Ruzic and wife Malisa, Paige Ruzic, Alexandra, Nicholas, and Sam Kreskai a great granddaughter Ashlyn Ruzic and a host of relatives and friends
