Travis Dean Cox, age 56, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Grace Care Center of Olney. The graveside service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Restland Cemetery in Olney, with Dr. Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church of Olney, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Travis was born to Donnie Cox, Sr. and Carolyn (Bone) Shurbet on February 1, 1969, in Olney, Texas, as the fourth of five siblings. He loved to collect knives, hot wheels, and anything he thought he could fix. He loved animals; he had a variety of pets growing up, especially his two beloved Chihuahuas, C.J. and Angel. He loved to fish and could sit for hours on the bank and fish, even if he never got a bite.
Travis was preceded in death by his father, Donnie Cox, Sr.; his mother and step-father Carolyn (Bone) Shurbet and Jimmie Shurbet; his aunts and uncles: Joy Bone, Shirley and Steve Stephens, Freda Reeves, and Carl and Yvette Bone, his cousin Troy Stephens, his nephew Allen Garibay and his great nephew Owen Jones.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son Robert Cox of Mineral Wells, Texas; his siblings Wanda Bone of Tye, Texas; her son Jason and his husband Chris Bone; Barbara Heverly and her husband Jim and their children Greg Cox and his wife Nikki, and their boys Dereck and Landon, Ashlie Rawe and her husband Zack and their children, Emilisage, Kaylie, and Liam, Amber Jones and her husband Cory and their children, Lavana and Onaliea all of Arkansas. Lucy Garibay and her husband, Junior, and their children; Janice Marsh and her husband, Kevin, and their children, Nick Castro, Joe Castro, and Raven; Tyson Marsh and wife Elizabeth and their daughters Aliyah DeLeon, Hadleigh and Paislee Marsh. Soles Garibay, his wife Brittany, and his daughter Samantha Garibay. A.J. Garibay and his children Skylar and Jensen, all of Olney. His brother, Donnie Cox, Jr. of Olney; His uncle Johnie Reeves of Baird, uncle Earnest Cox, and wife Betty of Graham, Texas, several cousins, family, and friends.
We love you, Bubba, and will miss you so much.
