Troy Thompson, age 84, died Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Grace Care Center Olney, Texas. Family visitation will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2019 in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Golden, officiating. Interment will follow at the Elbert Cemetery in Elbert, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Troy was born on August 10, 1935 in Anson, Texas to the late L. O. and Edna (Vandivere) Thompson. He moved to Elbert in 1983 from Olney. He was a farmer and truly enjoyed working. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. He married Loretta Goodman on May 2, 1982 in Olney. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2015. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Thompson, and two sisters, Edna Sneed and Dulah Lambeth.

Troy is survived by three sons: Billy Wayne Thompson, Danny Ray Thompson and Tony Otis Thompson, all of Olney; two daughters: Anita Thompson Hendrix and LaRue Ann Aaron, both of Olney; one sister, Martha Switzer of Cross Plains; seven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
