Violet Lea, age 86, died Friday, March 13, 2015, at her home in Springtown, Texas. A private family burial will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newcastle Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Violet was born on February 4, 1929 in Newcastle, Texas to the late Converse and Iva Catherine Angeline (Long) Runyon. She had previously worked at Graham Magnetics. She married Alfred Lea on June 13, 1972 in Lawton, Oklahoma and moved to Springtown in 1991 from Newcastle. Violet was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harrison Runyon.

Violet is survived by her husband, Alfred Lea of Springtown, Texas; two daughters: Barbara Cannon of Weatherford, Texas and Carolyn Nichols and husband Cliff of Azle, Texas; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
