Virginia "Jenny" Bruton, 91, passed away on July 26th, 2024, in Midland, Texas. A burial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21st, at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas.

Virginia "Jenny" Mae Bruton was born on July 21st, 1933, to John and Florence Pender in Newcastle, Texas. She graduated from Newcastle High School in May 1951. Jenny was active in high school, participating in the pep squad and cheerleading, and held several officer positions. She was even voted "Class Favorite" her senior year. About a year later, she married Charlie "Ralph" Bruton on May 8th, 1952, and moved to Olney, Texas. While living in Olney, Jenny worked at Olney Savings, for C. V. Morgan, and finally First American Bank (formerly Olney Savings). She moved several times to be near her family—Bryan, Texas; Rockwall, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; and Midland, Texas.

Jenny is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Karen Bruton of Midland, Texas; three grandchildren—Elise Bruton Rhodes and her husband Eric Rhodes of Burkburnett, Texas; Jarrod Alan Bruton of Wake Forest, North Carolina; and Corinne Bruton Kou and her husband David Kou of Heath, Texas; and two great-grandchildren Ethan James Rhodes and Emily Michelle Rhodes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie "Ralph" Bruton, her parents, John Edwin and Florence (Bradshaw) Pender, and her brother, John Edwin Jr.

The family would like to thank the staff at Midland Medical Lodge for her medical care and the members of Crestview Baptist Church, Midland, who continually prayed for her.
