Mrs. Vivian Edna Williams, 81, of Olney, Texas passed from this life on April 12, 2017. Born on May 20, 1935 in Valera, Texas to Edgar and Ora Nealy. Vivian graduated from Centennial High School in 1953. After graduation she attended secretarial school in Abilene. Later she worked for the Coleman County Clerks Office and J.C. Penney. She met James Williams in the spring of 1955 and they married on December 26, 1955. Vivian worked as the school secretary at both Wingate and Megargel Public Schools where James served as the Superintendent.
Once James and Vivian retired in 1986, they returned to Coleman where they were faithful members of the Elm Street Church of Christ. James served as an elder for many years and Vivian was the church's secretary for 26 years. Vivian enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends.
Vivian is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years James Williams; also her parents Edgar and Ora Nealy. She is survived by her three daughters Janice Perry and husband Allan of Quanah; Patti Gibson and husband David of Olney; Tracy Hooper and husband Lynn of Rowlett; two grandsons Kyle Gibson of Olney; Nathan Gibson and wife Jennifer of Abilene and two great-grandchildren Maddox and Madalen Gibson of Abilene.
Family visitation will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 at Lunn Funeral Home from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. Services will be held at the Elm Street Church of Christ in Coleman, Texas on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm with James Paul Bailey, minister of the Wilburton Church of Christ in Wilburton, Oklahoma, officiating, assisted by Scotte Clark, minister of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ in Olney, Texas. Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery. Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas will be handling all of the arrangements.
