Wanda Nell Wright Crosthwait was born October 29, 1922, in Olney, TX, and transitioned into eternal life in Suwanee, GA, on July 25, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Olney, Texas. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, C. E. Wright and Nora Atchley Wright, and her beloved husband, Delbert Crosthwait. She is also preceded in death by her son, Lloyd, his wife Barbara, brothers Floyd Wright and Earl Wright, and sisters Justine Watson and Mildred Morrow.

She is survived by her sister, Leah Graber of Weatherford, TX, and her brother, John Wright and wife Leta, of Austin, TX. She is also survived by daughter Sue Atchley and husband Charles, of Canyon, TX and son Glenn and wife Katharine, of Jasper, GA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren.

She graduated from high school in Olney, TX and later married Delbert "Whistle" Crosthwait. Together they had a great marriage and made a wonderful Christian home for 56 years until his death.  A devoted Christian, she was a life-long Baptist. Through the years, she taught Sunday School, young married ladies' Bible Study, led Vacation Bible School, and numerous other things, serving her Lord through His church.  Second only to her devotion to Jesus, her family always came first.  She enjoyed cooking for and hosting family gatherings large and small.

In her later years, she served as an Ombudsman, a volunteer position with the state of Texas, that served as a patient advocate for residents of 2 nursing homes. She also played the "fiddle" with a group of 4 ladies who provided entertainment for nursing homes, senior centers, etc. They were once honored as "Volunteers of the Year."

She will be long remembered for her gift of hospitality, her sense of humor, and her love for her family and her Lord.
