Wesley James York, age 51, died Sunday, September 23, 2018, at his parent's home in Elbert, TX. Memorial services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Southside Baptist Church with Brother Andy Graham officiating. Visitation with the family will be after the funeral from 11AM to noon at the Southside Baptist Church.

Wesley was born on March 23, 1967 in Olney, TX, to JC and Wilma (Foster) York. For many years, Wesley worked as a heavy equipment operator for Hinkle and McCoy all around the state. Afterwards he worked in several agricultural jobs, including farming and maintenance in Liberty, TX. Wesley loved everything about the outdoors. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and later watching all manner of wildlife.

He is survived by his parents, JC and Wilma York of Elbert; one brother, Phillip and Diane York of Earth; one sister, Kathy and Danny Shifflett of Olney; nephews, DJ and Mary Shifflett of Eddy, and Tanner and Ashlie Shifflett of Olney; nieces, Shelley and Curt Bills of Dimmitt and Jacy York of Bee Cave; and six wonderful great nephews.
