James Morgan, age 83, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Reagan County Care Center in Big Lake, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with C. J. Frazier, youth pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
James was born March 15, 1932 in Roswell, New Mexico to the late William Lundie Morgan and Frances (Sillivent) Morgan. He served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War. He had worked in the oil field until his retirement. James lived in the Olney area most of his life, then moved to Big Lake to be near family. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Iva Leona Herebia.
Survivors include one son, W. J. Morgan, Jr. of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two sisters: Wanda Smith of Odessa, Texas and Bertha Kennedy of Farmington, New Mexico; three nieces: Donna Evans, Pam Cornett, Sharon Long; and one nephew, William McBee.
